Everzen
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Privacy is the product: your diary is yours. This policy explains exactly where your data lives, when it moves, and what we can and cannot promise.
Stored on your device
Journal entries, photos, moods, and settings live only on your phone. We run no user accounts and keep no copy of your diary. Written entries and attached photos are saved directly on your device and are never sent anywhere.
Sent transiently for AI features
- Illustrating a memory sends that entry's text (plus mood, weather, and city if you added them) to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API and returns the artwork to your phone.
- Speaking a memory sends that audio clip the same way to be transcribed.
- This is the only time diary content leaves your device, and it happens only when you use those features. The relay that handles it is stateless: no accounts, and it does not store or log your text, audio, or images. The separate reminder registry described below never receives any of it.
- Google processes these requests under its Gemini API terms and may retain them briefly for abuse monitoring. If an entry feels too sensitive to process, post it as a written entry or attach your own photo instead; those never leave your phone.
Reminders and notifications
- Turning on reminders registers an anonymous notification token for your device so we can send the nudge. It is not linked to a name, email, or account, because Everzen has none.
- Alongside the token we keep only your platform (iOS or Android), your time-zone offset so a reminder arrives at a sensible hour rather than the middle of the night, and the time the app was last opened.
- We never store what you wrote, when you wrote it, or how often. How the app is used stays on your phone; the app being opened is all the registry can see.
- Turning reminders off deletes the token and its records from our server, not just the notifications on your phone. Uninstalling has the same effect the next time a notification fails to deliver.
Device permissions
- Microphone: only to let you speak a memory instead of typing. Audio is transcribed and discarded.
- Location: only, and optionally, to pre-fill your city and weather. You can always type these by hand.
- Photo library: only to let you attach your own photo to a memory.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for marketing.
- No behavioural tracking or profiling.
Sharing
Entries are private by default. Sharing to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, or X only happens when you tap share, and only the content you chose is handed to that app, under its own privacy policy.
Subscriptions
Everzen Premium is billed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive anonymous confirmation that a subscription is active, never your payment details.
Children
Everzen is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Data deletion
Because your diary lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. Nothing about you remains on our servers to delete.
Changes & contact
If this policy changes materially we will note it in the app. Questions: support@everzen.app.
