Keeping your diary safe
- Your diary lives on your phone, and iCloud backup keeps a copy in your own iCloud. It is on by default: Profile, Backup & restore, iCloud backup shows when it last saved. There is no copy on our side, so this is what protects it.
- After a reinstall, or on a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, Everzen offers to restore your diary when you open it. You can also do it any time from Profile, Backup & restore, Restore from iCloud.
- If iCloud backup says iCloud is off, sign in to iCloud and turn on iCloud Drive in Settings.
- Profile, Backup & restore, Export my diary also saves every entry as one file you keep yourself. Import a diary file brings it back.
- Automatic backup keeps a snapshot on the same phone, so a mistake can be undone with Restore from backup. It is deleted along with the app, so it does not replace an export.
Premium and billing
- Reinstalled, or bought Premium on another device? Profile, Manage subscription, Restore purchases.
- To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Everzen. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to stop the next charge. You keep Premium until the period you paid for ends.
- Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. The Refund policy explains how to ask for one.
Speaking and illustrating
- If the microphone does nothing, open Settings, Everzen and turn on Microphone. You can always type instead.
- Illustrating a memory needs an internet connection. If one fails, try again in a minute. Written entries and your own photos work offline.
- Free memories get one illustration each. Premium adds up to five redos per memory and every art style.
Read aloud
- Profile, Care & safety, Voice: choose Female or Male and tap Hear it. Everzen uses the voices already on your phone.
- For a more natural voice: Settings, Accessibility, Spoken Content, Voices, English, then download one marked Premium or Enhanced. Everzen picks it up the next time you open Profile.
Reminders
Change the time in Profile, Care & safety, Daily reminder. If a reminder never arrives, check that notifications are on in Settings, Notifications, Everzen.
Your account and your data
- You only need an account to write a day with a friend. Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a six-digit code sent to your email; there is no password. If two of these confirm the same address, they open the same account.
- Delete your account at any time with Delete my account at the bottom of Profile. That removes the account and every shared day, on both sides. Your own diary stays on your phone.
- Deleting the app deletes your diary with it, so export first.
- The Privacy policy sets out exactly what leaves your phone, and when.
